5 Reasons That I Love Medical School

I am often asked why I choose medical school while knowing that it is tough, full of stress, and is very challenging. I decided to answer this via my blog. Here are the five reasons that I love medical school:

1. I am joining a centuries old profession. Even in the bible, there are mentions of healers using medicine as a cure. I am proud to be part of that.

2. There is always someone to help. There will always be people who are sick and need medical attention.

3. It challenges me. I am not someone who likes to do the bare minimum; I like to go above and beyond.

4. It forces me to think and analyze my own life. It gives me something to look forward too.

5. It will allow me to help others and provide for myself and my family.

How Hard is the First Week of School?

The first week of school for any semester is generally about as easy as you want it to be.

It’s not like they go out of their way to make it difficult. New classes are starting, and the teachers don’t want to do anything except pass out syllabi and talk about themselves. They don’t want to go to work early unless they’re math and science teachers, in which case there is nothing else they can do.

And how you handle it is going to go a long way toward how hard it is.

You’ll be coming back from vacation. And you’ll be tired, possibly hungover, and the last thing you’ll want to do is to get up from playing Modern Warfare to go to class.

That said, if you get up, go when you’re supposed to go, and pay attention, then there’s really no reason that any of this should be difficult.
